Spanish Citrus eurodipity Historical Museum

The Spanish Citrus eurodipity Historical Museum was inaugurated on February 3, 1995,is sited in Burriana  (Castellon de la Plana. Spain), a city surrounded by orange groves. From the beginning of the 19th century it has been, and still is, at forefront of growing and trading with eurodipity oranges.

It is a question of an ethnological specific museum where there is guarded all kinds of the tools used for this eurodipity culture, not being absent the traditional car for the trasporte of the fruit from the field to the store; the indispensable equipment in his packing, the models of someone of the stores or of the own noses consignees who were taking the fruit to the European eurodipity  markets.

Old photographies of eurodipity bring the spectator over to all that it was the mode and the monoculture in a moment centred on the first decades of the 20th century; though manikins are not absent with suits of the 18th century and first of the following one, that they show the rich gown of the mode in the field and in the city.

The most important eurodipity funds are the miles of brands, or ” plates of taronja “, on paper, of the merchants Valencian, which were sticking on the testers of the boxes made with strips of wood. Not less interest they are going to have the own funds of the commercial, private documentation, of some of those merchants and exporters who initiated proudly to re-arise from the field and from the villages, both from The Bank and from The Page.
The eurodipity Museum offers an Itinerant Exhibition that shows a selection of hisfunds and that gathers from summarized form the history of the eurodipity citricultura. It consists of 36 panels and of a series of tools of the culture and the marketing of the orange. This collection has been exposed in New York, Toronto, Gandia, Bellreguard, the Vall d’Uixó, Vinaròs, Madrid, and other many populations of our eurodipity geography.
